Simple answer. A t-shirt quilt is quilted, a memory blanket is not.
Long answer. Our t-shirt quilts are quilted using an all-over meandering pattern on a long arm quilting machine. The quilts are backed with sweatshirt fabric. The quilting provides additional stabilty to the blanket and turns it into an heirloom quality piece.
Our memory blankets are created by piecing your items of clothing together in a patchwork pattern, then attaching a fluffy soft chenille on the back and top-stitching around the outside edge. This is a high quality option at an affordable price. To view the difference between a memory quilt and a memory blanket, click here.
The baby memory blanket is made using 8" squares, and the adult memory blanket is made using 15" squares.
We can only incorporate buttons and snaps into our memory blankets. However, if you choose to have a t-shirt quilt made, the clothing must be free of buttons, snaps or any other obstructions.
No, you do not need to cut into squares, but if you want to lighten your load for shipping, you can cut up the seams of your t-shirts and send only the side of the shirt that you want us to use.
Yes, we can use almost anything that is made out of fabric. Be creative! It will make your blanket
For the memory blankets you have a choice of chenille or sweatshirt fabric. For the t-shirt quilts we only use the sweatshirt fabric because we find it to work the best with the quilting machine
We do not return scraps unless you request us to do so. If you would like scraps returned, please send an extra $15.00 for return shipping of those items.
